* Terminology for Non-Gamers

World of Warcraft (aka WoW): An incredibly addictive and popular online game. Technically an MMORPG (massively multi-player online role-playing game), in WLP circles, you may have heard it referred to as a virtual world, or you may have heard of it being used to teach literature and math skills.

Guild: A voluntary organization of players who socialize and play together. Guilds generally have leaders and goals, pretty similar to any organizational structure.

Down: Kill.

Boss: Big, scary enemy that requires more than one person to kill. Bosses drop stuff ("loot") that increases players' ability to down bigger bosses, which is why it's worth it to kill them more than once.
